International Conference on Climate Resilient Farming through Multifaceted Production Technologies (October 18–21, 2021)
As part of the prestigious Golden Jubilee celebrations of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), an International Conference on “Climate Resilient Farming through Multifaceted Production Technologies” was organized from 18 to 21 October 2021. This landmark event brought together eminent scientists, academicians, industry experts, and students from India and abroad to deliberate on innovative strategies for strengthening climate-resilient agriculture.
Conducted in a hybrid mode, the four-day conference seamlessly integrated both in-person and virtual platforms, enabling widespread participation despite global travel constraints. The technical sessions were designed around key thematic areas, allowing participants to present their latest research findings, exchange scientific knowledge, and engage in meaningful discussions on emerging challenges and opportunities in climate-resilient farming.
A wide spectrum of topics was covered, including climate-smart crop management, advancements in crop improvement, innovative water and nutrient management practices, precision farming technologies, and sustainable organic agriculture approaches. The conference emphasized the need for translating scientific advancements into practical, farmer-oriented solutions that enhance productivity, profitability, and environmental resilience.
The event was collaboratively organized by the Agro Climate Research Centre (ACRC), Department of Agronomy, Department of Crop Physiology, and the Department of Sustainable Organic Agriculture, reflecting TNAU’s strong interdisciplinary capabilities.
Importantly, the Madras Agricultural Students’ Union (MASU) was a proud sponsor of the conference and extended significant monetary support to ensure its successful conduct. MASU’s contribution played a vital role in strengthening the event’s outreach, scientific value, and overall impact.
This international gathering served as a major platform to reinforce collaborations, inspire innovation, and contribute to a more resilient future for global agriculture.
